Four people are dead across three separate crashes in the Houston area.
HOUSTON — Four people are dead after three separate crashes around the Houston area.
On the Eastex Freeway, police said a car veered off the freeway into a grassy near the I-610 West around 2 a.m. and rolled over multiple times. One person was pronounced dead and three others were rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Over by the Northwest Freeway around 1:30 a.m., Houston police said a speeding car on the feeder road near Hewitt slammed into the barricade that separates the service road from the entrance ramp. The car burst into flames and police said two people inside were pronounced dead.
HPD also responded to a deadly crash at Fondren and West Orem around 8 p.m. Saturday night. Police said they believe and elderly driver may have had a medical emergency before crashing his vehicle. He later died at a hospital.
Police said they are investigating what led up to all three crashes and whether foggy conditions may have played a part.
