Crews rescued two trapped people from their SUV after a crash in Ventura on Saturday.
The Ventura City Fire Department said crews responded to multiple calls reporting a crash on Loma Vista Road and North Victoria Avenue around 1:45 p.m.
Details on how the crash transpired are limited, but VCFD said that it ultimately trapped both occupants of a pickup truck and both occupants of an SUV.
Ventura Police first arrived on the scene to find a pickup truck on its side with two patients who were able to self-extricate.
Officials said the second vehicle, an SUV that had crashed into a parked car, had another two patients trapped inside in critical condition.
It was not immediately made clear if the parked car was the pickup truck.
Fire crews quickly arrived and began caring for the patients.
“The vehicle was stabilized, and extrication was initiated utilizing the Jaws Of Life,” VCFD said in a release. “Though the extrication was highly technical, and multiple patients were trapped in the vehicle, all patients were freed within 30 minutes of arrival.”
VCFD said a total of four patients were taken to local hospitals where their conditions remained unknown as of Saturday afternoon.
