WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Two people were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in an apartment complex in Northeast D.C. on Saturday afternoon.
Shortly before 2:10 p.m., DC Fire and EMS (DCFD) said crews were dispatched to the 1800 block of Kendall Street NE. There, a basement fire broke out in a two-story apartment building.
The fire was under control within 15 minutes, a spokesperson for the department said. By 2:40 p.m., the fire had been extinguished.

DCFD said three residents were evaluated by EMS, two of which were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Six people were displaced.
About a dozen units and 60 officials were on the scene.
