LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said it arrested a 19-year-old from Ashburn for fatally shooting a 16-year-old boy over the weekend.
Just before 6 p.m. on April 12, deputies responded to a call about a boy who was hurt in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in front of the Harris Teeter in Southern Walk Plaza. Despite first responders’ efforts, he died from his injuries.
The incident was first reported as a stabbing, but deputies later determined that the boy had been shot at another location and taken to the parking lot. The person who drove him there is not considered a suspect, LCSO noted.
Police identified Fadlalla Mohamed as the shooter and arrested him Sunday afternoon in Leesburg. He was charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
He is being held without bond.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact LCSO Detective Whitehead at (703) 777-1021 or to submit a tip through the Loudoun County Crime Solvers at (703) 777-1919.
