A teen died and five others were injured after a shooting at a mansion party in the San Fernando Valley that took place early Sunday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills around 1:30 a.m. on multiple reports of a shooting at a large gathering.
“There were approximately 200 to 300 partygoers here, and some sort of altercation occurred which resulted in multiple shots being fired,” LAPD Lt. Guy Golan told KTLA.

Witnesses had reported the suspect had gotten into an argument and was being escorted out of the mansion when he began shooting at the crowd outside, authorities elaborated.
A 16-year-old was one of the individuals struck by gunfire, and they died at the scene, Lt. Golan stated. Further information from LAPD indicates that the other victims are five Hispanic men aged 19, 21, and 25 as well as two 34-year-olds.
All five were transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Video taken in the immediate aftermath of the shooting shows the partygoers running from the home and gathering on the street, and one person was seen in the back of an ambulance.

The luxury home where the shooting took place, located at the end of a driveway that winds up a hill in between Hatteras and Oxnard streets, is known to host parties and other events but is not considered by police to be “a problem location,” Lt. Golan said, adding that the event being held Saturday night was a “flyer party.”
“Maybe a couple of radio calls in the past, but nothing like this,” he told KTLA 5’s Gene Kang.
The property is listed on Booking.com as a “New Construction-LA Mega Mansion” that goes for $2,100 per night.
Detectives were still combing the scene for evidence at 8 a.m. Sunday, and anyone who was present at the party or has more information surrounding the shooting is asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
