After about a week and a half of life-saving efforts, a 15-year-old boy succumbed to his stab wound in a Riverside County hospital on Tuesday.

The stabbing happened around 10:25 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, according to the Hemet Police Department.

Dispatch received a call from another boy at the scene, saying his friend had just been stabbed in the 100 block of North Hamilton Avenue.

Officers soon arrived and found the 15-year-old victim suffering from a stab wound.

According to the department, officers began providing lifesaving measures until medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local trauma center for further medical treatment.

“Despite lifesaving efforts, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital,” said Hemet police in a release. “The victim’s name is not being released at this time.”

Police told the San Bernardino Sun that they did not have a suspect in custody as of Tuesday afternoon.

Details are limited, and police did not immediately say whether they have a suspect description, but noted that the Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau is handling the investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Investigator Daniel Cortez at 951-765-2433.

Callers can also provide anonymous information through the Hemet Police Department’s smartphone app.
