A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was brutally assaulted while walking home from school in San Bernardino County.
On March 6, San Bernardino County deputies responded to an assault near the intersection of Sunnyslope Drive and La Buena Tierra Avenue in Twentynine Palms at around 2:18 p.m.
The young boy was walking home when the suspect suddenly approached and began beating him. The boy was left unconscious and suffered serious injuries to his face, head and neck.
The suspect fled the scene before authorities arrived. The boy was later transported to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as a Black male adult around 30-40 years old. He was last seen wearing a burgundy-colored hoodie, jeans and black sneakers.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear. No further details were released as the case remains under investigation.
