FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — As early voting continues across the country, Fairfax County added 13 new in-person early voting locations.
Officials said the new locations opened on Oct. 17 across the county, to provide a convenient option for Fairfax County voters.
The new locations include libraries, government centers and community centers at the following addresses:
- Burke Centre Library, 5935 Freds Oak Road, Burke
- Centreville Regional Library, 14200 St. Germain Drive, Centreville
- Franconia Governmental Center, 6121 Franconia Road, Alexandria
- Great Falls Library, 9830 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls
- Herndon Fortnightly Library, 768 Center Street, Herndon
- Lorton Community Center, 9520 Richmond Highway, Lorton
- Mason Governmental Center, 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale
- McLean Governmental Center, 1437 Balls Hill Road, McLean
- Jim Scott (Providence) Community Center, 3001 Vaden Drive, Fairfax
- Sully Governmental Center, 4900 Stonecroft Blvd., Chantilly
- Thomas Jefferson Library, 7415 Arlington Blvd., Falls Church
- Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library, 7584 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church
- West Springfield Governmental Center, 6140 Rolling Road, Springfield
Officials said these voter centers will open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays Oct. 19, 26, and Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The centers will also open on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
What to bring
By law, Fairfax County officials said all voters must show identification when they vote. This can be a government-issued ID or one from a university in Virginia. The following can also be used:
- Current utility bill
- Bank statement
- Government check
- Paycheck
- Another government document with your name and address
Officials said a Virginia driver’s license or DMV-issued ID is also acceptable, even if it is expired.
Other ways to vote early
There is also still time to vote absentee by mail. You must request a mail-in ballot by Friday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m. Ballots must be completed and returned by 7 p.m. on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 5.
You can turn in your ballot at the Office of Elections, by ballot drop box or by mail, postmarked no later than Nov. 5.
