One person was hospitalized after they were shot while at Heritage Park in Chino Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 3:30 p.m., a group of four males was spotted near the playground at the park, which is located at 4250 Chino Ave.
Of those four, one “was reportedly armed with a handgun and fired at two victims before fleeing on foot,” the city of Chino said in a news release.
A person matching the description of the shooter was “quickly located and detained,” the city said.
As for the victims, one went to a local urgent care to be treated for a gunshot wound and was then transported to a local hospital. The other victim was not injured “but has declined to cooperate with the investigation,” the city said.
Authorities have not released any identifying information about anyone involved.
