One person was killed and another hospitalized when a two-car collision left one of the vehicles split in half in Diamond Bar early Tuesday.
The crash was reported around 12:15 a.m. near North Diamond Bar Boulevard and Temple Avenue, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Wong confirmed.
Deputies responded alongside Pomona Police Department officers and found one person deceased at the scene, Wong said.
A second victim was transported to a local hospital by L.A. County fire personnel in unknown condition.

It was unclear which vehicle each victim was in at the time of the crash, Wong said.
The cause of the crash, including whether speed or alcohol was a factor, was also unknown and remained under investigation.
