One person was killed after a shooter opened fire outside the Long Beach Grand Prix Saturday.
Shortly before 6 p.m., Long Beach police responded to the shooting on the 0 block of Cedar Walk.
Arriving officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Authorities are investigating the scene and working to locate the suspect. No other injuries were reported.
The victim’s identity was not released and the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear. Homicide detectives cordoned off nearby streets as the investigation continued.
The Long Beach Grand Prix is taking place this weekend from April 10-13 in downtown Long Beach.
