A person died after a collision involving a box truck on the 210 Freeway in Pasadena early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
Initial information provided to KTLA by a CHP spokesperson indicates that the crash happened at 4:15 a.m. on the westbound span of the 210 near Marengo Avenue.
The spokesperson stated that both vehicles involved in the crash caught fire. One person was pronounced dead at the scene; it was not immediately clear which vehicle they were in, and no information surrounding their identity was immediately released.
Video from the scene shows that a smaller vehicle collided with the rear of the box truck. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
A SigAlert was issued indicating the westbound side of the 210 would be closed from Lake Avenue to the 134 Freeway until the scene is cleared.
