PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A person is dead following a crash involving three vehicles on I-95 Sunday night in Prince George’s County, according to the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department (PGFD).
The department said that at around 8:50 p.m., units responded to the outer loop of I-495 at Route 50 for a rescue call. Once on the scene, crews found a multi-vehicle collision with one person dead.
Responders transported two people with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Crews also transported one person for evaluation.
According to the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), the crash happened at the I-95 outer loop before Exit 19A on US 50 (John Hanson Highway).
Regarding closures, as of Sunday night, three inner loop lanes and four outer loop lanes were closed.
Maryland State Police are investigating, and heavy delays can be expected, according to responders.
